Heart Cancer
Heart Cancer is one of those diseases which we have not heard much in our life. But yes, there exists a disease called Heart Cancer, though it is not very common. Still there are many getting affected by this disease and it is better to learn more about it.
About it:
Not many doctors know about this disease as it is not so common. However there is a fear that this disease will go unnoticed and it starts claiming lives. If we take a look on cancers we find many types of cancers affecting various parts of the body. Also Heart Cancer is not so life threatening either. The entire medical world tells us that the deaths occurring due to Heart Cancers is one in one lakh. So even if a person is diagnosed with heart cancer, there is no need to panic at all as it is certainly not a killer disease.
Other Facts:
The Heart Cancer that occurs in humans is of different types. They are classified based on the part which they affect in the heart. They are mainly classified into myxomas, fibromas, rhabdomyomas and hamartomas. Other types of tumor may also be caused such as the dangerous sarcomas and the melanomas too. If we study carefully we learn that all types of Heart Cancer mainly affect either the Coronary arteries or the heart muscle which is the main source of the functioning of the heart. So cancer developing in Heart Muscle can prove to be deadly, although there are no such reports of death for that particular type.
Also Angiosarcoma occurs more in children and many doctors claim that they especially affect the right side of the heart, though they are said to be very rare. Cancers in the form of Melanomas which are very dangerous spread to the entire heart and may occasional angina. The symptoms are just occasional pain, not as strong as the one caused during Arrhythmia or during an Angina.
Treatment:
Normally even Doctors do not regard Heart Cancer as a dangerous disease and hence normal antibiotics will help solving the problems. But in some forms of cancer, treatment becomes necessary. Normally treatment is given in the form of radiation to the heart. The Radiations are made incident on the part of the heart where the cancerous cells have multiplied.
Normally treatment process is simple and very effective as well as the cancer can be completely cured and the person can live a trouble free life. But there are some problems that may show its head after the treatment process is completed. This includes new heart disorders like Angina, Arrhythmia and other forms of the disease. As the radiations fall on the heart muscle, the heart muscle gets affected very badly thus inviting further complications.
