Ischemic Heart Disease
Another very dangerous disease, this one is a life threatening one and has claimed many lives. This disease occurs mainly due to poor blood supply to the heart muscle, which is the backbone of the heart. Let us take a deep look on this disease.
What is it?
This is another deadly very unfortunate disease characterized by poor blood supply to the heart muscle which helps in the rhythmical motions of the heart. Doctors say that the main reason behind the formation of this disease is due to a Coronary Artery Disease like Atherosclerosis, etc. This disease is no smaller in danger when compared with Congestive Heart Disease, Arrhythmia, etc.
Why is it caused?
Again the disease is invited people by smoking, high cholesterol levels, diabetes and Hypertension. Also the chances of getting the disease increases with age and it is also said that the disease is mainly seen in people having close relatives suffering from the same killer disease. So it is better to stay away from trouble rather than inviting it in the form of this disease.
Symptoms:
Since the disease is a dangerous one, its symptoms are powerful as well, troubling the patient from time to time. It includes Angina Pectoris which is associated with severe, unremitting crushing pain in the hands of the patient. The pain may spread to the neck as well. The Angina usually lasts for about half an hour and raises fears of death. As the disease becomes stronger the Angina too becomes severe and more often and the pain also spread to the chest part. Also Myocardial Infarction may arise and the heart becomes more and more weak.
Also the disease invites Congestive Heart Disease or also called as Heart Attack and may even lead to Heart Failure. Also due to the weakening of the heart muscle, breathing becomes a problem and the patients suffer from breathing normally. The chest pain may be caused due to various reasons as it may be caused due to Angina or Atherosclerosis or due to any other Coronary Artery Disease.
Treatment:
Well once the disease takes control of you it is better you take steps to at least reduce the severity of the attack especially the pain caused by the Angina Pectoris. The Angina pain can be controlled to some extent by the consumption of antianginal drugs available. Also the patients can go for treatment to treat other Coronary problems and hypertension. The medicines are available in the market to control hypertension and other risk factors.
What you can do to prevent the disease:
Always “Prevention is better than Cure” and going by that, we should eliminate all risk factors behind this disease. The best thing is to have a cholesterol free diet. Also diabetes should be completely avoided. One should go for healthy food and snacks which contain less fat and cholesterol. The more important thing is to avoid smoking as it is the front door to all the diseases in our body.
